Why vocabulary matters in Task 1: You must describe data accurately. Use different words for trends (rise, fall, remain stable), for degree (sharply, slightly) and for comparisons (the highest, accounted for). Avoid repeating the same word. Use an adjective + noun or a verb + adverb.

🔗 Prepositions and comparisons
💡 IELTS tip: A sharp rise = rose sharply (adjective + noun = verb + adverb). Check the prepositions: rose from 10 to 20, rose by 10, reached a peak of 80, stood at 30. Use the past tense for past years, and always support your description with figures.
